Thankful Everyday.

I have been drafting up a big post on a bunch of detailed things I am thankful for, but I don't feel that I can do it justice with more words. So I am simplifying with short and sweets.

  • Casey, hardest worker I know.
  • Alex, smartest Bugman ever!
  • Sharon, she is always there, ALWAYS.
  • My parents, supportive and giving.
  • Family, love love love them all.
  • Work, it has been a very great year.
  • Home, and it is home. Our nest.
  • Food, cooking more, better, tastier eats.
  • Books, read read read and pass it on to future generations.
  • Freedom, I am so glad that I have the right to my own opinion and can be vocal about it.

Paws. Paws. Paws. Paws. And then there were four.

I have been meaning to post for a while, but I haven't been able to shake myself out of this funk. But I wanted to say that we now only have four dogs.

We found homes for the puppies and Jenna. Yes, we decided that Jenna wasn't a good fit for our family, and it was such a hard decision for me to make.

Last night we said good bye to half of our pack, and then I promptly went to the garage and cried my eyes out on Bella's neck.

Is it more manageable? Yes. First time in 2+ months that our garage hasn't been covered in poop in the morning.

Am I sad?

Yes, very much so.

My DayBook

Outside my Window...bits of night as our Christmas lights push it away..

I am thinking...That a full week at home with family is such a fabulous thing.

I am thankful for... Our stocked pantry, my mad cooking skills, and for recipe books!

From the kitchen...Chicken Fried Steak! Meaty Spaghetti! Sugar Cookies!

I am creating... knitted goodies.

I am wearing... tank, cargos, and Ugg Slippers

I am reading... Having a Mary heart in a Martha world.

I am hoping... that I can master a sugar cookie recipe soon!

I am hearing... Cloud Cult.

Around the house...Boxes fo Christmas stuff!

One of my favorite things... Finding the Christmas cards I bought last year at the after day sales. It's always a surprise and I usually am quite happy with my picks!

A few plans for the rest of the week...

Tues: Car Maintenance, Costco and Bolt.

Weds: Baking!

Thurs: Eating!

Friday: Shopping!

Saturday: Decorating!

Sunday: Praying!

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...

How Many...

How many days have I had a headache, 12 to be exact.

Head

Ache-

ing.

I wouldn't say that it is constant, but it is there, annoying, nagging, dull, and throbbing. Like a stubbed toe.

That's it...

I have a stubbed Head.

I finally killed the fly and one of his buddies too. I finally ate the Bacon, with peas and fettuccine and white sauce. I finally soaked in the tub. I finally took a small nap. I finally have a break for 12 days.

And I still have a headache and want to sleep like the dead come dusk.

Beware there be snakes, tigers, and lions ahead.

Alex and Charlie the Cougar.

Snake Charmer.

Chillaxing with the Crocodiles.

Species, Human Males. Actions, Normal

Ms. Cheetah was nervous and worried.

Albino Rattler. All the snakes were very active, it was close to feeding time.

Mrs. Tiger was very hungry and grumpy.

Double Horns, I love this picture.

What?! Where you here last year?

Please don't wake me, unless you have food.

These days.

Casey giving our army of dogs yummy treats. They know who has the goodies.

Casey's travel plans are a bit different this week, so we get to have a whole Sunday with Mister Man.

He is currently snuggled up warm and toasty in our bed, catching up on sleep. He slept a lot yesterday as well, which I don't mind because he held my hand even while sleeping as I watched cheesy family shows on TLC and got all weepy.

And he even held my hand some more last night as we watched Austin city Limits with Iron & Wine, and he agreed. There is passion and depth to that music that I have been falling hard for.

And then we watched Robot Chicken and laughed and giggled.

And then he synchronized his light to turn on when I turned mine off and we gave me the most mischievous grin ever.

And then I fell asleep to the sounds of Casey rumbling around our house and I felt safe and happy and loved.

I love these days.

I am blaming the time change, a fly and bacon

Ever since the time changed and the daylight started fleeing earlier, I have been finding myself in a coma like state on the couch at 6:30pm. 6 FREAKING 30 PM!!!

Tonight, I was ready, completely ready for bed at 7pm, and then I remember we still had to eat dinner. Way to go for the mom of the day award. I can only say in my defense that we had some cereal at 5pm because the box of Just Bunches was such a temptation. And Rightly so, Just Bunches is uber yummy and uber filling. So, right, dinner and Daddy night call, and I was ready to go to bed.

Blink.

And then somehow time warped fast after Alex's tuck in at 8pm and I discovered it was 8:35pm. What?!

Which brings me to my I am Not Really Sick Symptoms.

  • Headache, still
  • I feel hot, like I have a wind burn.
  • I am TIRED.
  • Odd aches, like my left shoulder. I feel like I slept curled up under a rock.
  • Fly still in the house, bastard is not dead yet.
  • The much needed bacon has been purchased, but not yet used. *grumble*

I had a small Come to the Over the Counter Med talk with Casey and as of right now... I am going to bed. Bliss.

Yes, I am complaining

My tired with smudges of the days eyeliner Eye.

Sporting a headache right behind it.

  • I have had a headache for three days, nothing is making it go away.
  • My hair hurts, maybe it is the two feet of it, maybe it is the headache.
  • My skin is really dry, and starting to look like my Mother's. How did that happen?
  • There is a rouge fly in the house and I can't kill him.
  • I'd like a bacon sandwich, but we ate the last of the bacon on Monday. Damn.
  • I'd like more sleep. No Alarm clocks please.
  • I'd like to avoid the cold that I think is crashing down on my head. Go away, please.

What I really need...

I have finally pinpointed what has been bugging me... I miss my friends. More specifically, I miss great fun friend times when it is cold outside. This picture helped me to my realization, it's a snap of leftover pub pints at the tube station in London when Casey was there earlier this year. But he wasn't there alone, he was there with our friends Tom and Tracey, who we had been with in Cancun. They were crazy and silly and buzzed off major amounts of StrongBow. They were alerting the local Bobbies with their hoodies and they were having fun.
I need some fun.
I need a night out with hubby and friends, preferably while it is cold, so we can sit on the patio bundled up drinking something and having fun. I need to push aside all the "Ugh" thoughts that I have been having, and have some silly thoughts instead.
Like our crazy times with our Irish/Canadian friends. I miss them, both the friends and times.
*sigh*
