Happy Poop-O-Ween

Casey is dressing up for Halloween as Pinhead in a Prests Habit, and well it offically freaked four out of five dogs out. Penny ended up growling like a werewolf and hiding under the deck. Bella hide her head behind my legs the entire time. Twain tried to bite until it realized it was Casey and then he was all over him. And poor Archie, he barked growled, ran inside, pooped all the way up the stairs and then HOWLED like a banshee when Casey came in the room. Poor little thing is still shaking 30 minutes later. Betty was to intent on making her yard walk about to notice the monster on the deck.

Casey had this to say, "It's going to be one Fucking Great Halloween!"

He makes me Dream of Queen and Dave

For me the Autumn is more then the turning of the leaves, it is the season that my love affair with Casey is wrapped up in. From high school football games and chilly Autumn nights, to sweet first kisses under an afghan, to starry nights driving down De Luz Canyon and sitting on top of the mountain, to a Vineyard and willow tree where I met Casey at the end of a petal path. Autumn, October, is the background in my mind for us.

Our anniversary is tomorrow, and when I let my mind wander to that day I can see the color of the light, golden and clear better then honey. I can smell the flowers and grass and the soft scent of wine, I can hear my laughter and crying under the sound of his vows, I can see his hands as he put my band on my finger, I can feel his thumbs as they wiped away my happy tears.

When I let my mind wander back further I can hear many nights of Queen, I can remember the first time I heard Dave Matthews with Ants marching out of a tape in his bedroom. I can see dinners by firelight, I can flash through thousands of memories.

Right now I can see him asleep, warm within a down comforter, his hand snuggling the back of our pup. I can hear his murmurs to Alex in the early morning light, I can hear the steady even breathing of him. Steady and Even, Casey.

A break in the irregular Hiatus

This break has been a great thing for me, a good thing, a positive thing, a producing thing. Lots of crafting going on, actually finishing up projects that have been languishing for sometimes years. Lots of music memories. Lots of decorating. Lots of Friend Making. Lots of Nicole Changing.

I find myself early this morning reading about the fire in San Diego and Malibu and it makes a quiver start low in my belly. I am reminded of the raining of Ash at Disneyland and our mad dash home through hours and hours of traffic in 2003 only to have weeks and weeks of ash, but luckily our home. I am worried about all our San Diego friends and their families.

Karelle, don't know if you still have property out in Julian but I hope you and yours are safe.
Gina, thanks for the links on your blog to the article updates, I really appreciate it.
Lisa, stay safe and sound your family too.
Negin, don't go to Malibu. *grin*
Countless others I am thinking of you and all my memories today.

Confession: I think I prefer possible hurricanes over wildfires.

Time to go make Eggs Benidict, gotta love early morning delish.

Hiatus

I am making lots of major changes in my life right now, so my blog must be put on the back burner. I will pop in periodically and post some updates. Right now I need to focus on real life, real habits, and real change.

Ciao Bellas!!
